Meta’s OBA help page states the official business account is not granted to employees, test accounts, or WhatsApp Business App users (they have not been required to complete the same business verification). If rejected, Meta describes waiting before a new request — verify the current wait on that page (it has been a 30-day band).

Coexistence / Business-App-plus-API setups may have extra Meta limits (partners have noted OBA is not offered on some coexistence numbers). If Meta’s UI says you are ineligible, believe Meta — not a LinkedIn carousel.

“The badge turned blue, so now it is Meta Verified.”
False. Colour and product name drifted; OBA and Meta Verified are still different paths. Look at how you applied, not the PNG.

“I must buy Meta Verified to use the API.”

Did Meta rename the WhatsApp green tick?

India still searches “green tick.” Meta’s product name is Official Business Account. Help pages now describe a verified badge on the profile and chat header (often shown as a blue check). Same OBA idea — verify the current badge art in WhatsApp, not in a screenshot from 2019.

Is Meta Verified the same as Official Business Account?

No. OBA is a free, selective Platform badge. Meta Verified is a paid Meta subscription that can also display a verified badge and extra support features. Confirm current availability on WhatsApp’s Meta Verified help page. Neither is required to use Cloud API.

Is “WatsBerry is a Meta Verified Technical Provider” the same as my green tick?

No. That phrase means WatsBerry is Meta’s tech-provider partner. Your chat badge is Official Business Account (or a Meta Verified subscription on an eligible account). Different products.

Do I need the badge before I send templates?
